At the age of 15, New Zealand born, Australian raised, Emma Harrison
started modeling when she was spotted in the audience of a beauty
contest and immediately signed by a local agency. She began her
career with numerous televison commercials including Palmolive Soap
and Kentucky Fried Chicken. For Emma, this was the first step in
a career that has made her a house hold name in more than 50 countries
around the world.
Emma expanded
her interests to include the stage, where she continued to develop
her talents. Her gift for dance became particularly apparent, resulting
in an offer of placement in the Australian National Ballet School.
Shortly after
Emma left for college, she attracted the attention of several prominent
casting agents, who persuaded her to embark on an acting career.
Before long, her striking looks and unique qualities caught the
attention of established directors and she rapidly secured substantial
roles. In short order, she landed parts in television productions
of "Timetrax" and "Mission Impossible". Emboldened
by these early successess, Emma felt ready to purse acting in earnest,
and decided to make the move to Sydney.
Signed by agency
powerhouse Chadwick Management, Emma was instantly in constant demand,
spending the next two years working with commercial clients Impulse
and Coca-Cola, and serving as the feature model for several hair
and beauty lines. Emma also became a huge favorite with pop culture
magazines, eventually being courted by top design houses and making
appearances for high profile designers including Donna Karan.
The young actress'
career exploded after she was discovered by the casing director
of the landmark series "Neighbours". Taken with her talent,
charisma, and sensational looks, the team behind the number one
show decided to write her into the program as part of the starring
cast. For three seasons, Emma took the viewing public by storm playing
Joanna Hartman, resulting in a nomination for Best New Talent at
the Australian Logie Awards.
Fresh from her
conquest of Australia, Emma traveled to England where, thanks to
"Neighbours" , she was already a a major star. While in
the UK, she hosted two television programs, appeared on the covers
of dozens of magazines such as FHM, Loaded, Maxim, and Inside Sport
and was selected as a presenter for the prestigious BAFTA Awards.
Setting her sights on Hollywood, Emma's appeal proved to have no
boundaries. As of this date, she has already been seen in spots
for Budweiser, Taco Bell, Subway, ABC Sports and TNT, to mention
a few. Appearances on "Ally McBeal" and "Just Shoot
Me" followed shortly thereafter. Currently focussing on her
feature film career, Emma has roles in two upcoming releases, The
Coen Brothers' "Intolerable Cruelty" and Robert Altman's
"The Company." In January of 2004 Emma appeared in 8 installments
of "E! Entertainment's Style Network hit "Style Court".
